Marvel fans are in for a treat as Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.’ In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hahn expressed her eagerness for fans to witness the new series.
Asked about her excitement for fans to watch the show, Hahn responded:
“Oh, [for] Marvel fans and just anyone that loves a witch. I can’t wait for people to see it. I can’t wait to see it!”
Reflecting on her role as Agatha, Hahn revealed this wasn’t the first time she played a witch:

When Will ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ Be Released?
Developed by Jac Schaeffer, ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries‘ is a direct spin-off from ‘WandaVision’ and is scheduled to premiere in late 2024. As part of the Phase Five of the MCU, the series will consist of nine episodes. Filming of the series wrapped up in late May 2023. Hahn indicated in the interview that just a few days of reshoots were pending.
‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ will revisit the character of Agatha Harkness, who first appeared in ‘WandaVision’ as a mysterious neighbor, later revealed to be a powerful witch. The plot revolves around Harkness, now powerless after escaping from her containment in Westview, New Jersey, seeking to regain her former powers with the help of some unlikely allies.
The development of ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ began in October 2021, with Hahn and Schaeffer attached from the start. Initially titled ‘Agatha: House of Harkness’ and then ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos,’ the series ultimately adopted its current title in September 2023.
Alongside Hahn, the series has a cast that includes Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley. Besides, a number of actors from ‘WandaVision’ are set to reprise their roles.
Beyond ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ Hahn has another upcoming role as the voice of Honey in ‘Fixed,‘ an animated comedy movie currently in post-production.
