Disney+ still didn’t start promoting the ‘WandaVision’ spinoff, ‘Agatha,’ despite kicking off development in 2021. But a recent change to a half-purple profile on the main show’s social media hinted at new updates down the line.
The miniseries also did some reshoots earlier in 2024. Kathryn Hahn talked about what was coming by saying:
“I wish I could tell you anything. I can tell you that it’s pretty fan- fabulous, I’m going to say that. I was going to say fantastic, but then I decided to go with fabulous.”
She added:
“It’s an amazing cast. I’m in awe of everyone’s work in this show and I think people are going to be surprised. I don’t think they’re going to think it’s one way and, of course, it’s going to go a million different avenues, kind of like ‘WandaVision.’”
The New Spinoff’s Cast And Plot
‘Agatha’ will feature returning ‘WandaVision’ cast members like Emma Caulfield Ford, Debra Jo Rupp, David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, and Kate Forbes. Newcomers will include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.
The plot is still largely unknown, but according to reports, it will focus on Agatha as she tracks down a ‘reincarnated’ Billy Maximoff. Rumors say that descendants of Evanora Harkness’s coven, the Salem Seven, will also return for revenge on their mother’s murderer.
Sacha Baron Cohen might appear as Mephisto in the upcoming show. ‘Agatha’ is set for release in September.
