Keke Palmer Says Being A Teen Star Took Her Childlike Aspect Away

Well-known TV host, actor, and singer Keke Palmer became sociable to release a never-before-seen TBT photo, taken almost 12 years ago during Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Palmer, who recently announced that she has been suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome and severe acne, alongside the photo, in which she is seen sitting on the bed while using her computer, wrote that she wants to reverse the clock to live her childhood from the start. In her own words:

“GM yaaaaallll, was going through Facebook and found this old photo from the 2009 Kids Choice awards. The first thing I noticed was my fancy and mature dress, paired with my super childish and girly room. The razor phone also takes me out!”

Stating that being young means feeling pressure “to be so mature and appear polished,” the ‘Hustlers‘ actor said that kind of feelings is so much for a 16-year-old girl. Regarding her early days in her career as a child star, Palmer wrote:

“I didn’t realize how much time I had (by the grace of God) to become everything I wanted to be. I still work at this to this day, telling myself to relax and have patience.”

By pointing out her 16-year-old version in the photo, she admitted that being a teen star enforced her inner child to grow up. The four-time NAACP Image Awards winner concluded her words as follows:

“This is the girl I try to find everyday, I try to keep her alive and remove all the things people told her she had to be and had to do to be loved or special. I may be older now but I try to reverse the clock and keep the child alive, she’s the truest part of me. 💋”

As known, Palmer started her acting career in 2004, when she was just 10 years old. She made her acting debut in the 2004 dated movie, ‘Barbershop 2: Back in Business,’ as Gina’s niece, and the same year she appeared as ‘Arletta Marion‘ in the TV show, ‘Cold Case.’
