One of the most recognized actors worldwide, Kerry Washington took to her verified Instagram account the other day to celebrate the news; as known, the series she appeared in as ‘Mia Warren,’ ‘Little Fires Everywhere‘ received both NAACP Image Awards and WGA Awards nominations.
A few days after Kerry Washington had been nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Limited–Series or Dramatic Special by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, she went to her Instagram with a shot with Lexi Underwood who also received an NAACP Image Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited–Series) for her performance in the same series.
Alongside the photo, Washington wrote that she already knew that ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ is so special from the first table read, and added:
“And these 5 @naacpimageawards nominations and the #WritersGuildAward nomination are further affirmation that there are a few people who agree! I am so proud to have our work recognized in this way!!!!!!”
Then the ‘Scandal‘ actor concluded her message as follows:
“And I am eternally grateful to our entire 🔥family🔥 for putting their all into this groundbreaking series. ALL THE FEELS TODAY ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
In return, Lexi Underwood, portraying Washington’s daughter, ‘Pearl Warren‘ in the miniseries, jumped into the comments section to leave the following message:
“I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work on this special project with some of the most amazing people. You have been a treasured gift to me. I love you!!! ❤️”
Apart from Underwood, Washington’s industry friends also were quick to celebrate the exciting news:
“So proud of our whole cast / writers / directors and crew ! Dream Team 🔥” wrote, Reese Witherspoon, playing ‘Elena Richardson’ in the series.
“🔥🔥🔥🔥. All beyond deserved!!” added, well-known actor Josh Gad.
