Kerry Washington Pronounces January 15 “Regina King Day” For An Adorable Cause

‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington took to Instagram in order to mark 50th birthday of Academy Award-winning actor Regina King.

Five-time NAACP Image Awards winner, posted a photo that sees her with King at the stage at Emmy Awards and added a message announcing she is pronouncing January 15 – her birthday – “Regina King Day” as a caption. Calling the ‘The Big Bang Theory’ star “her sister-friend-goddess,” Washington added:

“I officially pronounce today #ReginaKingDay!!!!!”

In her adorable message, Washington also announced that ‘One Night in Miami,’ which is King’s directorial debut, would be available on Prime Video to stream on January 15. Washington continued:

“It’s been such a joy and an honor watching you shine over the years. Love you!!!! Everybody go watch her movie and celebrate her today!!!!!!!”

Following the post, Instagram users flooded the comment section but not for sending their birthday messages to King. A good number of fans & followers pointed to the photo, in which Washington is seen while pregnant, and added they have not known that the actor has a child. Here are some of them:

“Wait when were you pregnant 😭,” wrote an Instagram user.

“You had a child? What planet am I living on?💀” added, another.

Actually, the ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ star, who praises the ‘Watchmen’ actor at every turn, has two children: A daughter and a son whom with she shares NFL player husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
