Kevin Costner revealed that he is open to coming back to ‘Yellowstone,’ but only if the circumstances are right.
Costner talked about his decision to leave ‘Yellowstone’ and the possibility of his return during an interview on Today. He explained that he wanted to work more than once a year and that the show lost an entire year at one point due to delays:
“I did it for five years, and I wanted to work more than once a year. We lost an entire year at one point, and I thought, that can’t happen again. It was well over a year. I thought I had to be in a position to make the things. Material has to be ready at certain times, and we weren’t able to do that. After five years, I thought, I’m not going to do this. If we can get that, we can do that, and I’ll do it.”
The actor added that if the production schedule could be fixed, he would consider returning:
“I’ve supported that thing and I’ve loved it, it’s been really important to me. I would love to go back under the right circumstances. I think that’s what all of us want. At this point, for me, it really needs to be the right circumstances.”

Costner Has a New Project On The Line
Costner’s return to Yellowstone is uncertain, but he has a new project coming up. He will release a film called ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ this summer. The film is a two-part event that tells the story of the Civil War and the settlement of the American West.
‘Horizon: An American Saga Chapter One’ will be released on June 28th. The second part will be called ‘Chapter Two,’ and it will follow on August 16th. Costner directed and co-wrote the film.
The first half of ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 finished airing in January 2023. The last six episodes are set to air on Paramount Network in November 2023. There is some good news though: Paramount is working on a spin-off series.
