‘Blade’ has faced several problems, like the pandemic, labor strikes, and losing two directors, which is why the release date kept getting pushed back.
The ‘Blade’ movie faced several setbacks since Marvel first announced Mahershala Ali as the titular hero at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con. Finally, the studio removed it from its 2025 release schedule last month, but insider Daniel Richtman claimed on X that the project got a new production date.
Kevin Feige, who made a statement about whether another release date could be expected after the delay. He said, “We’re committed to Blade. We love the character, we love Mahershala’s version of him,” the executive confirmed. “And rest assured, whenever we change direction with a project, or are still trying to figure out how it fits into our schedule, we let the public know. You’re updated on what’s going on. But I can say that the character will make it to the MCU.”
Feige also discussed ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’, saying, “I hope that, shortly after that, he will be able to enter the MCU in live-action.”
As for how ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Wolverine’ could fit into future projects, he added, “The plans with ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Wolverine’ will always be the same: we’re always considering where we can fit them in and how quickly.”
Regarding the ‘X-Men’ reboot, Feige stated, “When we were preparing for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ years ago, it was a matter of getting to the grand finale of our narrative, and then we had to start all over again after that. This time, on the road to ‘Secret Wars’, we already know very well what the story will be up until then and beyond. The ‘X-Men’ are an important part of that future.”
