Well-known comedian and actor Kevin Hart teamed up with former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama through their production company Higher Ground Productions for his latest drama film ‘Fatherhood‘ as known. Now, the highly-expected film is meeting the audiences.
On March 4, Hart, who is portraying ‘Matt Logelin‘ in the film directed by Paul Weitz, went to his verified Instagram to announce that ‘Fatherhood’ will be released on Netflix on June 18; just before Father’s Day.
To deliver the exciting news, Hart posted a screenshot of a report announcing the release of the film, and then added a lengthy caption. After unveiling the release date, the actor & comedian described the movie as “a passion project” and praised it by calling it “amazing.” Stating that ‘Fatherhood’ was an “opportunity to change the narrative on the Black Father stereotype” Hart continued:
“As a black father I pride myself on trying to be as present as possible in my kids lives…I’m not the only black father that does this… There are so many of us. Seeing a film like Fatherhood is important as hell.”
In his message, the ‘Jumanji’ actor also expressed his satisfaction with partnering with Obamas’ production company Higher Ground Productions:
