On August 25, NBC News released a photo of comedian Kevin Hart, alongside news regarding Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt testing positive for Covid-19. Whereupon, well-known actor and comedian Kevin Hart took to Instagram to slam NBC News for this mistake; he posted a screenshot, alongside a series of face-palm emojis, wrote in hilarious tone:
“No comment 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️… I must of gotten really fast & tall overnight… I want to take advantage of this moment & race anybody in the world. We can bet whatever… Sh*t just got real. I am also no longer doing comedy due to my Olympic training schedule… I’M BACK BI**HES!!!!!! 🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️”
Even though the 41-year-old actor reacted humorously first, continued by describing it as disrespectful:
“P.S This is disrespectful on so many levels… All you can do is laugh. Maybe the Covid-19 shrunk his legs & torso 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂😂”
Following the post, a good number of notable names, friends of Hart, claimed that NBC News did this on purpose. Once negative reactions about this issue increase the news division apologized to Kevin Hart for the wrong photo-mix. A statement was shared through Twitter, that reads:
“Very sorry about that @KevinHart4real – bad technical glitch in how photos show up on Facebook.”
Also, the management of NBC added the following note on the news page:
“A previous version of this article included an incorrect photo on some platforms due to a technical problem. The photo depicted actor Kevin Hart. It has been replaced with a photo of Usain Bolt. In the content management system, a social image was not selected, and the system reverted to an image of Hart from an unrelated video. The display image has been corrected.”
