During a recent appearance on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, Kieran Culkin revealed that he has not watched the ‘Succession’ finale.
“I was in Poland shooting this movie when the last three episodes were airing, and I couldn’t log into my Max account,” the actor explained. “So my wife actually went on Instagram and said hey, if there’s anyone who can give your sign-in so Kieran can watch the last couple episodes? And people did!”
He continued, “Everyone just gave over their email and password and stuff. I was able to watch the eighth and ninth episode, but then before the last one I had to move to a different hotel that didn’t have a smart TV, so I just couldn’t watch it then.”
“[I] then went home, did a vacation, blah blah blah. You know when it’s like a couple months old? I kinda missed the moment. Does that not make sense? Maybe it doesn’t make sense,” Culkin added.
The actor won a Golden Globe and an Emmy award this year for his role in season four of the popular HBO black comedy drama. Since then, Culkin and his wife planned to rewatch the whole show from the start, but they haven’t started yet.
In other news about ‘Succession,’ co-star Jeremy Strong said last month that working on the show was tough for him. He misses it but wouldn’t want to come back if given the chance.
He noted, “That show was an incalculable gift. The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do. It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it.”
The first season of ‘Succession’ started in June 2018 on HBO. It starred Brian Cox as Logan Roy, the father trying to find a successor in his family for his media company, Waystar RoyCo. The cast also included Culkin, Strong, Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, and Sarah Snook.
