Lucy Liu, known for playing the role of ‘O-Ren Ishii’ in ‘Kill Bill,’ posted a photo of a little black girl, who holds a placard that read on “Black Lives Matter” and captioned the photo as follows with the aim of showing her support to the movement:
“Black Lives Matter. ‘Chink, Jap, Kori, Gook, Slant, Halfbreed, Banana, Dragon-lady, Geisha, Kung Flu spreader’…I have dealt with these slurs all my life. My career has not been immune to them. The Black Lives Matter movement not only shines a light on systemic racism but it also exposes the US caste system of the haves and the have nots.”
One of the ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ Lucy Lui gave unity and solidarity messages intending to fight against racial inequality:
“The murder of yet another black life caught on video – in addition to individuals sheltering in place – created the perfect storm for BLM to make real strides forward towards change. We march together.”
