‘House of the Dragon’ returned with Season 2 on June 16, but Kit Harington has yet to watch it due to his long years in the franchise.
“I just can’t watch it,” the actor’s words to the Associated Press at the New York City premiere of ‘Industry’ Season 3 read. “I think it’s just, for me, I spent too long there. And I wish them all the best and I hear it’s wonderful and going really well, but I don’t think I’ll ever watch that show.”
Harington previously admitted to watching the prequel’s first few episodes and loving it. “I think they’ve done a fantastic job with it,” he said last year but explained, “It’s hard for me to watch because I lived in it for so long. There’s a pain there, you know? So I’m working my way through it slowly… You’re watching a lot of people in your costumes!”
‘House of the Dragon’ set its story about 200 years before ‘Game of Thrones,’ starting around a century after the Targaryen conquest united the Seven Kingdoms, and 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen’s birth.
Harington’s co-star, Emilia Clarke, also shared her disinterest in watching the new series. “I feel so content and happy with what my experience was, that I think watching the new one would just feel so odd, I think,” she shared with People in June.
Meanwhile, HBO renewed ‘House of the Dragon’ for a third season right before the second season’s debut. You can find all the episodes so far on Max.
