New photos from the set of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 give us the first look at Laurence Fishburne as Regis.
As per Redanian Intelligence, photographer UnboxPHD took the photos at Waverley Abbey near London. They show Fishburne in costume, complete with a wig, sideburns, a vest-style jacket, and red boots.
The set photos suggest that they are filming a key scene from the books. Geralt’s group rescues a woman accused of witchcraft at a refugee camp in this scene and reveals Regis’ true nature. The refugee camp is part of the war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms, which started at the end of Season 3.
You can see Fishburne as Regis along with other photos below.
Production For the Season Continues
Season 4 is currently in production, and about a quarter of the eight episodes are already filmed. Liam Hemsworth is taking over the Geralt of Rivia role from Henry Cavill. Returning cast members include Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan. You can see Hemsworth as Geralt here.
Fishburne joins them as Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, aka Regis, a vampire over 400 years old who works as a barber-surgeon. Regis first meets Geralt and Zoltan in ‘Baptism of Fire.’ He joins a group called The Hansa, which includes Geralt, Zoltan, Jaskier, Milva, Cahir, and Percival Schuttenbach. The Hansa is expected to appear in Season 4 with more joining later.
The filming at Waverley Abbey caused the ruins to be closed to visitors until July 12. It’s not clear if the crew will stay that long, but filming will continue for a few more days. Season 4 of ‘The Witcher’ is expected to be released in 2025. A new Witcher book by Andrzej Sapkowski is planned for Winter 2024/2025, and ‘The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep’ anime is set for late 2024.
