‘Orange Is the New Black‘ actor Laverne Cox took to her verified Instagram account to herald that she teamed up with iHeartRadio and Shondaland Digital to launch her brand new podcast, ‘The Laverne Cox Show.’
One of the most-known LGBTQ+ advocates, Cox, posted a first look at the poster for the podcast, through Instagram and wrote that she is super excited to be able to deliver the news regarding her very first podcast finally, and continued by telling about the contents of the show:
“The Laverne Cox Show will feature intimate conversations that I hope will expand our consciousness and get us closer to becoming the very best versions of ourselves.”
The show, in which each week different names will appear as a guest of Cox will start streaming in February, according to the message of the actor:
“I hope you’ll join me in February on this journey I want us to go on together.”
Meanwhile, Shondaland Digital released through its official Instagram page that Cox’s opening speech for the show, in which she introduced herself to audiences as “actress, producer and transgender icon.”
During the speech, she implied that she will discuss Black culture, racial inequalities, women and LGBTQ+ rights, and gender issues with her guests in the upcoming podcast. Shondaland Digital captioned it as follows:
“Get excited because the talented and fierce @lavernecox is joining our Shondaland Audio family with her podcast ‘The Laverne Cox Show.’ An intimate and thought-provoking podcast to inspire podcast listeners, guests, and Laverne to become the best versions of themselves.”
