The ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress and LGBTQ+ activist Laverne Cox posted an IG TV video from Netflix’s series ‘Pose’, named ‘Angelica Ross and other Trans Actors’ and called out to her followers to give countenance to trans actors for Emmy.
Cox described her fans as Academy voters and urged them to take action for trans actors who deserve to be nominated for Emmy Awards:
“I am still the only openly trans person nominated for a Prime Time Acting Emmy. Academy voters you can change that this year. There’s so much amazing trans talent on screen this past tv season @angelicaross is but one example.”
The actress, who has received countless awards as an activist spreading awareness all around the world about gender, added:
“Shout out to @turnerschofield and @rowinamone on their Daytime Emmys acting nominations this year. They are the first openly trans Daytime Emmys Acting nominees.”
The ‘TRANSform Me’ star concluded her words with a forceful message:
“Let’s spread the trans love to the primetime Emmys.”
According to the comments the followers left, it seems that trans actors will receive great support this year for Emmys.
