The ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress Laverne Cox praised Beyoncé and her works, which contributes to Black Culture, by sharing a black and white photo of herself, that she appears in Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies’ costume.
The trans rights advocate, and cosmetics mogul Laverne Cox, as known, became Cosmopolitan’s very first openly trans cover star in 2018. She transformed into Beyoncé for the issue and said during the cover story that the singer represented excellence, and acclaimed her work ethic. The other day, Cox brought up those moments into the light and wrote as a caption alongside the said photo:
“I had the privilege of dressing up as @beyonce in 2016 for @cosmopolitan. Beyoncé will never let you forget that she is Black and PROUD. If you’ve been paying attention throughout her decades-long career, you know her iconic Coachella performance in celebration of Black culture as well as her latest film ‘Black Is King’ fall right in line with her day one values.”
The musical film and visual album ‘Black Is King’ directed, written, and executive produced by the singer, who Time marked as “the queen of a generation providing guidance and assembling her listeners with black solidarity,” was released on July 31 and received acclaim from critics.
Then, the Daytime Emmy Award winner Cox invited her fans to remember Beyoncé’s valuable works:
“Swipe up in my story for a reminder of how Bey continues to show up for our people on @wearepushblack #throwback #TransIsBeautiful #beyonce”
