The first openly transgender to be nominated for an Emmy Award, actor Laverne Cox expressed her excitement regarding four Golden Globe nominations for the film, ‘Promising Young Woman‘ through her verified Instagram account.
On February 27, the well-known star jumped into her social media accounts with a short video that sees her on the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet and recalled the good old days. Alongside the video, in which she looks stunning in a white long dress with a trail, wrote the following message with a longing to attending this kind of ceremonies in as we did in the pre-covid world:
“#GoldenGlobes 2016 back when we could do those sorts of things.”
The ‘Orange Is the New Black’ star stated that unlike she did in 2019, this year she will attend the 78th Golden Globe Awards from her home because of the coronavirus pandemic. Even though she will not rock the red carpet this year, Cox celebrated the nominations of ‘Promising Young Woman’ by writing:
“Tomorrow we do Globes at home repping @promisingyoungwoman nominated for 4 Golden Globes. WOW!”
Portraying ‘Gail’ in Emerald Fennel-directed film, Cox concluded her words by praising the cast and the crew:
“Shout out to the entire cast and crew and our individual nominees Emerald Fennell, our writer, director and Carey Mulligan our leading lady. So proud to be a part of this incredible film.”
As known, the film, starring Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Clancy Brown, and Jennifer Coolidge alongside Cox, received Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama, Best Director, and Best Screenplay nominations.
