Two-time Golden Globe Award winner Lena Dunham directed Emily Ratajkowski’s pregnancy reveal clip for Vogue Magazine.
On September 26, the well-known model and actor Emily Ratajkowski announced her pregnancy through a Vogue essay entitled ‘Emily Ratajkowski on Pregnancy and Why She Doesn’t Want to Reveal the Gender of Her Baby.’ The essay was accompanied by the ‘Girls‘ creator’s short documentary film that focuses on Ratajkowski’s pregnancy journey.
Dunham told Vogue that the aforementioned film was important to her that it feels very very unfiltered and authentically present. She also described it as “opposite of a PEOPLE magazine baby announcement.”
Independent Spirit Award-winning actor & director Lena Dunham also announced the documentary through her verified Instagram account. She shared a short part of it, adding it was an honor to help her “angel of a friend” and continued:
“This beautiful and delicate moment of transition in her life for @voguemagazine, directing a short quarantine documentary about the beginning of her pregnancy. So moved by her words and to be a small part of her experience. Love you Em. I cannot wait to see who they will be.”
As for expectant mother, Emily Ratajkowski, who is in 20 weeks of pregnancy, thanked her friend for capturing this great her period of life through an Instagram post:
“Thank you to my brilliant and very generous friend @lenadunham for her vision and commitment to directing this. I’m so grateful.”
