‘Girls’ creator Lena Dunham released a highly inspring message through her verified Instagram account, amid the coronavirus lockdown. Dunham, who is also a notable writer, posted a photo of herself without makeup, and glamorized her fans & followers with the message she added in the caption section.
Dunham began her message by greeting her followers from her floor of quarantine in London, where she is full isolation due to Tier 4 lockdown laws, and continued:
“But the chance to be alone with only a bag of crisps and my thoughts before I go full bore into the most ambitious project of my career has been a special lil’ gift- it’s given me a moment to reflect on the strength and stability I feel as I barrel toward my *official* mid-thirties, and how deeply it contrasts with the flightiness and fragility of my twenties.”
Then the director and actor focused on her twenties, which was full of “outward-facing achievement, dresses, liquid eyeliner and taking my shoes off at parties” and said that she actually was fighting off to stay in the remix.
“The last three years- since Girls ended, since my health and long-term relationship collapsed at once and I had to rebuild myself in a new body and home since I got sober and learned what it meant to really sit with myself- have been deafeningly quiet. But in that silence, more has occurred than ever did when I was dancing as fast as I could. I’ve discovered my own values.”
Dunhan continued by saying that she has taken up “dorky hobbies” and built dreams while healing without knowing it was happening. The ‘Girls’ actor, who expressed that she “motored her own boat” concluded her words by asking her fans and followers what have they found in the silence lately.
In return, a great number of Instagram users flooded the comment section to answer the artist. While well-known TV personality Paris Hilton wrote that she loves the post, Jamie Lee Curtis highlighted the importance of self love with her message. The other comments are as follows:
“I spent so much time trying to outrun quiet, and now I seek it. Thanks for this post, I needed to hear it” wrote, actor Rhea Seehorn.
“Yessssss. Couldn’t relate more bb. Be careful with that body while you work. 💕” added, Tillett Wright.
