Liam Neeson recently joined an interview for his new movie ‘In The Land Of Saints And Sinners.’ The magazine asked him if he would come back to ‘Star Wars’ in any format. The actor replied:
“I enjoyed very much being with Ewan [McGregor] and George Lucas on ‘The Phantom Menace.’ We shot that 26 years ago! Would I do it again? I don’t think so. Too f***ing old, ya know? I can’t see the situation, I really can’t, you know?”
No Plans To Return
Neeson mentioned that he doesn’t want to return to the franchise last year. He told Men’s Health:
“No. ‘Star Wars’, no. As much as I admire them… There’s just so many of them now. So, I’ve lost track, unfortunately.”
The actor had an uncredited cameo in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ in 2022. Season 1 suggested Qui-Gon might help Obi-Wan learn about being a Force Ghost. But there are no plans to delve into that storyline in the future.
He May Appear In Animations
Liam Neeson made his comeback as Qui-Gon in animated projects. He voiced the Jedi Master in several episodes of Lucas’ ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars.’
The actor also reprised the role in an episode of ‘Tales Of The Jedi.’ This series will have a Season 2 this year. Although Neeson won’t appear in live-action projects, he might voice Qui-Gon again.
Meanwhile, ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace’ is turning 25 this year. The film will be back in theaters on Star Wars Day weekend to celebrate. The event will give fans a first look at Disney+’s ‘The Acolyte.’
