Lili Reinhart, best known for her role in the series ‘Riverdale,’ wrote a poetry book to express her stayed hidden feelings and thoughts throughout the tough times she had experienced. The book titled ‘Swimming Lessons’ was released on 29 September 2020.
Regarding the 229-page poetry book, Reinhart, who split from ‘Riverdale’ co-star Cole Sprouse earlier this year, spoke to PEOPLE magazine.
“If I’m going through something, depression, anxiety, a breakup, I need to talk about it. I’ll talk to my friends for hours, I’ll write about it for pages and pages in my journal, I’ll write countless poems about it.”
Then the 24-year-old actress added that she collected the poems written by her in the past five years and tried to capture different emotions, different heartaches, and different loves.
“People are going to try and draw conclusions from certain poems and be like ‘Oh, it’s about this!’ and sure, they can do that, but these poems are from multiple years.”
Reinhart also stated that her poems did not only reflect the recent phase of her life. She concluded her words as follows:
“I’ll flip through the pages and remember exactly what I was writing about three years ago and how I felt. It’s encouraging to see how in touch with the emotions I was. I’ve gone through a lot of changes in my life. It’s been very interesting to see how many people are not living in a conscious, present state.”
