Lily Collins and Lena Dunham are ready to rock the film industry with their highly exciting collective work.
On June 24, Collins, the Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris‘ star, fired up her social media accounts to announce that she teamed up with ‘Girls’ creator for a Polly Pocket-inspired film! Releasing a TBT photo in which she is seen as a little kid in a swimsuit, Collins wrote in the caption section that being a part of this kind of project has been a real dream for her.
The ‘Mank’ actor stated through her Instagram post:
“Little Lil, big news. As a child who was obsessed with Polly Pockets, it’s a real dream come true to announce this project! I am partnering with the most inspiring powerhouse team — Robbie Brenner, Lena Dunham, Mattel, and MGM Studios — to reintroduce Polly to the world in a fun, modern way… bringing these tiny toys to the big screen.“
Collins, who is feeling grateful for starring in a film Lena Dunham writes and directs, concluded her words as follows:
“Truly so excited to be coming on as both a producer and Polly herself! Can’t wait to dive into this pastel world…“
Regarding the upcoming film, Dunham stated in an interview that she is very thrilled to bring ‘Polly’ to the big screen through a quite different perspective; she added:
“Polly gave me a tiny world of magic and autonomy to narrate, so it’s pretty poetic to be tackling these same ideas now as a director collaborating with the brilliant Lily Collins, Robbie Brenner, Mattel and MGM. I’m so thrilled to bring to bear both my love of this historic property and also my deep-seated belief that young women need smart playful films that speak to them without condescension.”
According to the updates by showrunners, Collins will play the title role ‘Polly’ in the live-action Polly Pocket film and also serve as a producer.
