Jonathan Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges for assaulting ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in December 2023. Following this, the court ordered him to attend domestic violence counseling earlier this year.
Jabbari then filed a lawsuit against Majors in March, accusing him of defamation. She claimed he falsely stated in an interview with ‘Good Morning America’ that he had “never laid [his] hands on a woman” after the guilty verdict.
Both parties reached a resolution recently. Their attorneys filed a joint notice that read, “All claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice.”
Majors had a breakout in 2023 with roles in ‘Creed III’ and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.’ But his arrest and subsequent conviction led to his management and PR firms to drop him while Marvel cut ties with him.
The fallout affected the actor’s future as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio canceled his planned appearance as the villain in ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and replaced the project as ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ bringing Robert Downey Jr. in as Doctor Doom.
Majors made a return to the acting scene with a new role in Martin Villeneuve’s ‘Merciless.’ His film ‘Magazine Dreams’ also got a release date for next year after Briarcliff Entertainment picked it up from Searchlight Pictures.
