Margot Robbie Joins Jacob Elordi For ‘Wuthering Heights’ Adaptation

The adaptation of the famous novel will start production next year in the UK.

Oscar-nominated actress Margot Robbie and BAFTA-nominated actor Jacob Elordi are confirmed to star in a new adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights.’

As per Deadline‘s reports, the movie will be directed by Emerald Fennell, and it’s based on the classic novel by Emily Brontë. It will be produced by LuckyChap and MRC. Filming is set to start in the UK in 2025.

Robbie will star as Catherine Earnshaw and Elordi will play Heathcliff. The story follows the complicated relationships between the Earnshaws, the Lintons, and their foster son Heathcliff. The original novel was published in 1850. It features a dramatic and intense portrayal of the families, and it’s not clear yet how Fennell will approach this in her adaptation.

Emerald Fennell, who won an Oscar for her original screenplay of ‘Promising Young Woman,’ will write, direct, and produce the film. This will be her third collaboration with LuckyChap after working together on ‘Saltburn’ and ‘Promising Young Woman.’

Margot Robbie recently starred in and produced ‘Barbie.’ Robbie will next be seen in ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’ set to release in May 2025.

Jacob Elordi is coming off his role in Fennell’s latest movie ‘Saltburn,’ and he also recently played Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla.’ He will soon appear in ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’ and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein.’

This new ‘Wuthering Heights’ adaptation is still in pre-production, and plot details are being kept under wraps.
