Well-known actor and TV host Mario Lopez went to Instagram on January 14 in order to deliver the latest news concerning his ‘Saved by the Bell‘ co-star Dustin Diamond‘s health condition.
As known, Diamond was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and taken to hospital in Florida over the weekend after he had experienced “pain all over his body.” The team of the 44-year-old actor, who best known for playing ‘Samuel “Screech” Powers,’ confirmed the news with a Facebook post that reads:
“At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer. Dustin will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made.”
Once the devastating news spread, Lopez, portraying ‘A.C. Slater‘ in the fan-favorite TV series, contacted his former co-star to find out his medical condition. After that, the ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ host took to his Instagram page, posted a photo collage that sees two together, and confirmed the heartbreaking news himself as well:
“I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he’ll overcome this.”
Lopez concluded his message by showing her support for Diamond, whose condition was marked as “serious” by the doctors:
“Praying for him & his family and for a speedy recovery. God Bless.”
According to the news obtained by The Sun, the actor, who has had a lump on his neck, previously refused to get treatment in case he was photographed by people in the hospital. However, he is now about to start chemo, as his close friend Dan Block has said in a press statement.
