Kevin Feige recently talked about the possibility of uniting James Gunn’s DC Universe and the MCU in a chat with Collider. He admitted:
“I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it. I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen. But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We’d never be able to do that.’”
No Plans For A Crossover Right Now
The topic also made headlines last year after a meeting between James Gunn and Kevin Feige. Back then, Gunn said a crossover wasn’t possible before they finished setting up the new DCU. Feige said that condition was still up:
“We’ll never say never, but no, no plans. I’ve seen the paparazzi shots of the ‘Superman’ set looking cool. So, he’s [James Gunn] focusing on that. We’re focusing on this.”
The Studios Are Busy With Separate Projects
DC Studios is now focused on kicking off the DCU with the animated series, ‘Creature Commandos,’ this December. ‘Superman’ will be the rebooted universe’s first live-action film on July 11, 2025. A ‘Wonder Woman’ prequel series named ‘Paradise Lost’ and ‘The Brave and the Bold’ will come out in the following years.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will hit the big screen on July 26. The film will be the studio’s only release this year, but other projects will arrive in 2025 for the MCU’s Phase 5.
