Marvel Decides To Make Spider-Man And Scarlet Witch Siblings

The story takes them on a journey of family secrets, superpowers, and new challenges in an alternate reality.

Marvel released a new novel that reimagines Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch as siblings.

In ‘What If… Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker Were Siblings?: A Scarlet Witch & Spider-Man Story,’ Peter Parker and Wanda Maximoff are portrayed as brother and sister.

ComicBook reports that the story is written by Seanan McGuire, and it changes other characters’ roles as well. Wanda’s twin brother Pietro Maximoff, who we know as Quicksilver, is reimagined as Pietro von Doom. He is the son of Doctor Doom in this version.

The novel begins with the murder of Captain America at Avengers Manor. Wanda discovers her magical powers and begins training with Doctor Strange, while Peter continues his journey as Spider-Man. The siblings fight to protect New York City together, but they also face great challenges and personal losses.

Wanda eventually crosses paths with Pietro von Doom, the long-lost brother she never knew. Pietro explains that they were meant to grow up together, but Wanda was taken away from their family when she was adopted by the Parkers.

This novel is part of Marvel’s ‘What If…?’ series. In this version of events, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Mary and Richard Parker adopt Wanda when she is just a baby. They rescue her during a mission to Latveria. This means Wanda grows up in Queens, New York, with Peter, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben.

‘What If… Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker Were Siblings?: A Scarlet Witch & Spider-Man Story’ is now available for purchase in hardcover, audio, and eBook formats. This novel is part of the same series as ‘What If… Loki Was Worthy?’ and ‘What If… Marc Spector Was Host to Venom?’.
