Emma Corrin says they wanted Marvel to assign them a personal trainer, but they said ‘No.’
Corrin shared in an interview with British GQ that they asked Marvel for a personal trainer to help them undergo a major physical transformation for their role in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine.’ However, Marvel said no to their request:
“This is funny because I did ask if I could have a personal trainer and they said no. They said I don’t have to undergo any physical training. I was so ready to undergo a huge transformation but they were like, ‘That’s absolutely not required of you. Please stand down.’ I tried.”
Corrin will be playing the villain Cassandra Nova in the movie. Cassandra Nova is known as the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier in the comics. It is still unknown how she will fit into the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ storyline.

They Say Marvel Had Different Plans For Cassandra
In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Corrin said that Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy wanted their character to be similar to Hans Landa from Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’:
“He’s so disarmingly polite and nice and unaffected, and it’s really creepy. It’s all the more sinister because he doesn’t need to do anything. Ryan and Shawn pitched this idea, which I was totally on board with: ‘We want this villain to not be a villain in the sense that you expect them to be. We want you to be so endeared by her, so charmed by her, and just when you think that maybe she’s totally seen into your soul and you are going to be best friends for life, you’re dead.'”
Corrin also admitted they are not very familiar with Marvel movies. They said they only watched ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Black Panther’ and would need a crash course to understand the Marvel world.
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is set to hit theaters on July 26.
