Marvel Studios is making progress on their new X-Men movie.
According to Deadline‘s reports, Marvel hired Michael Lesslie to write the movie’s script. Lesslie is known for writing ‘The Little Drummer Girl,’ ‘Assassin’s Creed,’ ‘Macbeth,’ and the upcoming ‘Now You See Me 3.’ He also helped restart the Hunger Games series with ‘Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.’
The new X-Men movie is still in the early stages of development. There are no actors or directors attached yet, and no release date has been set. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce the film.
Marvel Is Introducing The Mutants To MCU
Marvel Studios is taking their time to introduce X-Men to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hints about the mutants appeared in projects like ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ‘The Marvels,’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
20th Century Fox made seven X-Men films and a successful Wolverine spinoff series. The series needed a fresh start after ‘Dark Phoenix’ in 2019. Marvel’s animated series ‘X-Men ’97’ is a big hit on Disney+, though, and it received great reviews so far.
A new X-Men movie was expected since Disney bought 20th Century Fox in 2019. Marvel Studios is also working on other X-Men-related projects, like the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ movie. You can watch the film’s latest teaser below.
