Marvel Studios lost another director for ‘Blade.’
As per the Wrap, Yann Demange is no longer part of the project. He is the French-Algerian filmmaker known for directing the TV series ‘Lovecraft Country’ and ‘Top Boy.’ This is the second time a director has left ‘Blade.’ Demange had replaced Bassam Tariq, who left earlier.
Marvel and Demange’s split was friendly, and it happened a while ago. Marvel veteran writer Eric Pearson is now working on the new ‘Blade’ script. Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, and Michael Green wrote drafts of the script before him.
Mahershala Ali is still set to play the main character. Ali is also in talks to join the next ‘Jurassic World’ movie.
Marvel Doesn’t Want To Rush Things
Marvel Studios is focusing on making sure ‘Blade’ is done right instead of rushing to release it. They decided to release only two movies a year, so this gives them more time to develop each one.
‘Blade’ is scheduled to come out on November 7, 2025. Meanwhile, Marvel’s next four films — ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ ‘Thunderbolts,’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ — are almost done or already in progress.
‘Blade’ was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan. The character first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1973 as a supporting character before getting his own comic series.
