MCU’s Mantis Confirms Return To James Gunn’s DCU

She says she’s talked with Gunn about joining his new DC Universe.

Pom Klementieff has some exciting news.

At San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con this weekend, Klementieff revealed that she talked with James Gunn about a role in his new DC Universe.

Pom was asked about her potential role in the DCU during the panel. She confirmed that she discussed a specific character with James Gunn but did not reveal who it might be. As per ComicBookMovie, Pom admitted she loves working with Gunn:

“Do you really think I’m going to answer this question? I just want to keep working with James, so we’re going to keep trying to find ways to do that. Yes, we’ve been talking about one specific character, but I can’t talk about that right now.”

Pom first appeared as Mantis in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’ She also played the character in ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’ The last movie left the door open for Mantis to return in the future, and Pom says she is open to coming back as Mantis if the right project comes along.

Gunn is Open to Work With MCU Actors

Gunn hinted on social media that he wants to work again with actors from the MCU. Chris Pratt was recently seen visiting the set of Gunn’s ‘Superman,’ but he is not expected to appear in the movie.

Pom shared that being in a Marvel movie was always her dream. She first watched ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and later got cast in its sequel:

“It was always my dream to be an X-Men or part of a Marvel movie. Then, I saw the first Guardians of the Galaxy, and it became my first Marvel movie ever. Then, I got cast in the second one. I feel so lucky.”

There were reports that Pom was cast in Gunn’s upcoming DCU reboot, but Gunn denied those claims.
