Melissa Fumero, a well-known actor, remembered the first day of the set of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘ as she saying a farewell to the series she appeared in for 8 seasons.
On June 9, Fumero, who gained international recognition for starring as ‘Amy Santiago‘ in the said TV show, released a photo of her lot badge on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ universe and shared the story behind it.
As fans might remember, back in February 2021, it was announced that the series starring Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Dirk Blocker, Joel McKinnon Miller, and Andre Braugher will be saying goodbye to TV with its eight-season.
A couple of weeks later the “devastating news” was announced, Fumero shared the above-mentioned post; alongside the photo of the badge bearing her photo and her name, she wrote:
“8 years ago, Beatriz walked me, Stephanie Beatriz and Chelsea Peretti to get our pictures taken for our lot badges. Something about that moment made everything really real- we actually made that pilot, it actually got picked up, we actually were about to shoot a whole season of this incredible show on this lot with this amazing cast that I was loving more and more each day.”
Fumero, who also appeared in ‘One Life to Live’ as ‘Adriana Cramer,’ concluded her message by expressing her satisfaction with being a part of the NBc series. In her own words:
“Filled with so much excitement and nerves, Chelsea said something that made me laugh right as the photographer clicked the camera… and that moment was predicative of what the next 8 years would be like. Each day was full of laughter, of excitement, of nerves, of confidence, of elated exhaustion, and of beautiful friendship & collaboration.”
As widely known, Dan Goor and Michael Schur-created series began to run back on September 17, 2013; it is scheduled to final on September 16, 2021.
