Hollywood actor Melissa Joan Hart issued a statement through her verified Instagram account after the news that actor George Segal passed away on March 23, 2021, at age 87.
The same day, the well-known TV personality, who gained further fame for starring in the fan-favorite teen series ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch,’ went to her social media with a photo of herself with ‘The Goldbergs’ star. The ‘Drive Me Crazy’ star paid tribute to the late actor who reportedly died of complications from bypass surgery, with these words:
“Shocked and saddened to hear of #GeorgeSegal passing away!”
As fans may remember, Hart directed one episode from ‘The Goldbergs’ titled ‘Hail Barry‘ in 2019; and co-starred with Segal in the American sitcom ‘Just Shoot Me!‘ in 1997. Recalling their works together, Hart wrote:
“From being on set of #JustShootMe to directing him on #Goldbergs, he was a true gem and great man. He will be missed!”
As known, on March 23, the wife of the well-known actor, Sonia Segal delivered the devastating news with the following statement:
“The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery.”
