At ‘The Union’ premiere, Luke Cage star Mike Colter spoke with ComicBook and said he’d ‘love to explore’ what returning to the MCU might be like.
“I would love to explore it, if they found some story, some way, somewhere, to take it. And I’m happy that Charlie Cox and those are getting it rebooted, but I don’t have any [idea if Luke Cage is getting rebooted]. I’m not holding anything back,” the actor noted.
Colter starred as Luke Cage in two seasons of his own show and teamed up with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and other characters in ‘The Defenders.’ So far, only Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Ayelet Zurer have been confirmed to return to the MCU.
ComicBook had again asked Colter about the possibility of returning to the MCU in May. “[I’ll return] only if it doesn’t affect my schedule in a way that I can’t do another season of ‘Evil,'” Mike replied. “[I] would totally entertain a good script and idea that made sense.”
The actor added, “I don’t stay up at night thinking about it, nor do I recall it unless someone brings it up. But I enjoyed my time. I don’t look in the past. If something comes up, great, we’ll talk about it. But right now, I’m [past it].”
If Colter returns as Luke Cage, there’s already a good story to follow. At the end of season two, Luke became the new crime boss of Harlem’s Paradise to control crime. This raises the question of whether Luke has turned into a villain.
Last year, Mike starred with Gerard Butler in the action movie ‘Plane’ and led the thriller ‘Murder City.’ He also played David in the Netflix sci-fi movie ‘Extinction’ and acted with Dylan Baker in ‘I’m Charlie Walker.’ The fourth season of his ‘Evil’ arrived on May 23.
