Actor Misha Collins, best known for his portrayal of ‘Angel Castiel’ on fan-favorite television series Supernatural, took to Instagram the other day to promote the highly-expected movie, ‘Sound of Metal.’ The actor, who recently said goodbye to the series, released an official trailer for the film and revealed that its director Darius Marder and he has been sharing a long-time friendship.
In the caption section, the actor recalled 33 years ago, when he and the director Marder “were playing video games in detention after all the other kids had gone home” and continued:
“Dar is still breaking the rules with his debut film, #SoundofMetal out today on Amazon with a 97% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Watch it & write to me your Instagram-blurb review.”
The film, Collins praised through its director’s go-head style, premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, and released through Amazon Prime Video on December 4. In just two days ‘Sound of Metal,’ starring Riz Ahmed, Olivia Cooke, Paul Raci, Lauren Ridloff, and Mathieu Amalric was watched by thousands of people and it garnered high praises from the viewers.
Focusing on a drummer who faced with losing his hearing, the film first announced in January 2016, and filming started in 2018. For the drama movie, Ahmed took drum lessons in addition to learning American Sign Language. It’s now available to watch on Prime Video.
