Four-time Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated star Jesse Tyler Ferguson shared an update about his health with his fans and followers, through his verified social media accounts.
On June 8, the actor, who gained international fame after starring in the well-known comedy series ‘Modern Family,’ jumped into his verified Instagram account and revealed that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer.
The actor delivered the news by releasing a photo of himself, just after his biopsy season at the doc office; alongside the photo, Ferguson added a message that reads:
“Reminder to stay up to date on your dermatology checks… especially if you’re fair like me. I always wind up getting something taken from me, every time I go.”
Even though the update is not “positive” at all, he embraced a positive attitude and tried to relieve his friends’ worries by saying:
“Today, they took a bit of skin cancer that they found. Don’t worry, I got it early and I’m gonna be just fine. (And, wear sunscreen! SPF 1000 for me!)”
In the message, ‘The Merchant of Venice’ star did not reveal the type of skin cancer with which he was diagnosed; what’s more, he urged his fans and followers to get their dermatology checks.
As soon as the actor released the photo plus the message, his husband Justin Mikita took to the comments section and left the following message so as to show his love and support to Ferguson:
“Gotta keep you around forever. Derm appointments once a month!”
