Morena Baccarin Is Done Waiting: ‘Deadpool 4’ Needs Copycat, And So Do Fans

The actress is ready for her character Vanessa Carlysle to return to the big screen as Copycat.

Morena Baccarin shared her hopes to bring Vanessa back to the MCU as Copycat in a recent interview with ComicBook for her latest film, ‘Elevation.’

“I’ve only been waiting like five years,” Baccarin said of the role she portrayed since 2016’s ‘Deadpool.’ “I’m not getting any younger or skinnier, so now’s the time.”

Fans of the franchise have long hoped to see Vanessa Carlysle show up on screen as the shapeshifting mutant, Copycat, from the comics. Even director Tim Miller had plans to introduce her in ‘Deadpool 2,’ but creative differences led to his departure.

Vanessa played a key role in ‘Deadpool,’ as her romance with Wade Wilson moved the plot forward. Baccarin reprised the part in ‘Deadpool 2’ in 2018, where her character was killed early in the movie but returned through Deadpool’s time-traveling journey.

Most recently, the actress appeared in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ but only for brief appearances. The movie revealed that Vanessa and Wade split off-screen after the events of the first sequel.

Although ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was a box-office hit, there’s still no clear confirmation of a fourth ‘Deadpool’ movie. But some believe that one of Marvel’s untitled projects scheduled for 2026 or 2027 might be ‘Deadpool 4.’
