‘My Adventures With Superman’ is back with a new season, and there’s a lot happening. The biggest news is that the show introduced a new queer couple. This change is making a big impact on the story and the characters, especially Lois Lane.
Warning, big spoilers ahead!
In Season 2, Episode 7, called ‘Olsen’s Eleven,’ we see Livewire and Heat Wave as a couple. They were previously known as criminals in Metropolis, using powerful technology to commit crimes. But things have changed, and now they are working together and in love. Their relationship helps Lois Lane learn important lessons about trust and forgiveness.
Lois has been struggling with her feelings about aliens. This was causing problems between her and Clark Kent. She feared other aliens wouldn’t be as kind as Clark. This fear seemed to be true when Supergirl attacked and kidnapped Clark. Jimmy Olsen reminded Lois that she should stay trusting instead of acting out of fear.
Livewire and Heat Wave’s relationship also plays a role in helping Lois. Livewire gives Lois advice that helps her see the importance of giving second chances. This makes Lois decide to trust Kara (Supergirl) again.
There’s Also An Exciting Heist
Jimmy Olsen recruits Livewire and Heat Wave to steal a spaceship from STAR Labs. They use clever tricks to break in, but things get intense when Amanda Waller and her troops try to stop them. Livewire and Heat Wave abandon Lois and Jimmy at first, but they come back to save the day. They fight off the Metallo robots and complete the mission.
Livewire’s advice to Lois also helps her in her personal journey. Lois decides to put aside her fear and give Supergirl another chance. She realizes that being kind and forgiving is the best way forward. This is a big step for Lois, who wants to find Clark and rebuild their relationship.
The new episodes of ‘My Adventures With Superman’ air on Adult Swim every Friday, and you can stream them on Max the next day.
