‘How I Met Your Mother‘ alum Neil Patrick Harris updated his Instagram feed with a shot of his husband, David Burtka which sees him in a hospital bed while wearing a cervical collar, and declared that he had had a highly serious spinal surgery.
Alongside the photo, in which Burtka is giving a thumbs-up sign, Harris wrote that his husband is recovering from spinal surgery and continued by telling of the difficulty of the surgery:
“It was fairly intensive, took over seven hours, but he’s in good spirits and doing well. It’s one of the scarier, more hopeless feelings – hoping for the best, trying not to fear the worst, waiting a call with news.”
After expressing that waiting as a relative of the patient is the worst part of the surgery, the ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West‘ star heralded that the surgery went according to plan. In his message, Harris did not skip to praise his husband of 10 years by saying:
“Whew..! Two thumbs up. I love you, @dbelicious. Your strength inspires me.”
Hollywood actor concluded his post by thanking NY-Presbyterian Hospital. What’s more, in the comments section, when Harris was asked what happened to Burtka by well-known actor, comedian, and writer Amy Sedaris, Harris responded to her by saying that it was planned for a while due that “three disks being di**s.”
