Neil Patrick Harris Celebrates His Twins’ 10th Birthday: “They Are My Absolute Prides And Joys”

Actor Neil Patrick Harris, who gained further recognition with his role as ‘Barney Stinson’ on the legendary sitcom, ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ expressed how much he was grateful for being the father of his twins, on their 10th birthday.

‘The Smurfs’ actor, posted a photo of the twins’, who he and his husband David Burtka welcomed via surrogate in October 2010; he called them “Double Digits,” and informed fans that the children turned 10.

“Ten years! This last decade has absolutely whizzed by – and I’ve loved it. I’ve never felt more tired and broken down, nor more awake and alive. My parenting skills are both terrible and amazing. Having children makes you grow in a thousand different directions, and I am just so thankful to my kids for all of it (and to @dbelicious for his unstoppable, handsome, tireless devotion and commitment to being a parent).”

Then the sitcom alum continued his message by praising his children with the following words:

“Kind, smart, clever, hilarious, savvy, intuitive, ingenious – they are my absolute prides and joys. I love them with every ounce of my being. #grateful”

As might be remembered, Harris and Burtka met in 2004, and started a romance with each other. Three years later, Burtka proposed to Harris, and in 2008, the actor popped the question to Burtka. After 2 years, in 2010, they welcomed fraternal twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, via a surrogate mother. The twins were born on October 12, 2010.
