Netflix launched the first official trailer for American comedy film, ‘The Forty-Year-Old Version,’ Radha Blank’s directorial debut, on August 26.
On YouTube Channel, alongside the trailer, Netflix also released the following statement:
“Radha is a down-on-her-luck NY playwright, who is desperate for a breakthrough before 40. Reinventing herself as rapper RadhaMUSPrime, she vacillates between the worlds of Hip Hop and theater in order to find her true voice.”
The highly expected film, starring Radha Blank, Peter Kim, Oswin Benjamin, and Reed Birney, had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, and Blank was awarded for U.S Dramatic Competition Directing Award.
As for the writer, director & producer Blank took to her Instagram and uploaded the trailer to her page, sharing in the caption that:
“Official trailer. You never age out of your passion. From Writer/Director Radha Blank and Producer Lena Waithe come to a fresh New York tale. Drops globally on @netflix October 9.
Come follow our journey.”
The film will be released on October 9, 2020, on Netflix.
