The first teaser for David Fincher’s upcoming film ‘Mank‘ has been released the other day, by Netflix, through Instagram.
The official Instagram account for Netflix Film shared the official trailer, with the caption that reads:
“David Fincher’s @mank is a scathing social critique of 1930s Hollywood through the eyes of alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane. In Select Theaters November and on @netflix December 4.”
‘Mank’ the first film of Academy Awar winner director David Fincher’s since the 2014 ‘Gone Girl,’ is based on the real story of screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz. It focuses on Mankiewicz’s battles with director Orson Welles over screenplay credit for 1941 dated movie, ‘Citizen Kane.’
The script of the film, starring Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Charles Dance, and Lily Collins was written by Ficher’s father, Howard Kelly “Jack” Fincher, who died in 2003. Even though Jack Ficher wrote the script in the 1990s, the project was done in 2020.
Lily Collins, who is portraying ‘Rita Alexander’ in the biographical drama film, also posted the trailer on her verified Instagram account and expressed her excitement about having been a part of a movie directed by Fincher:
“1930s Hollywood… #DavidFincher… Citizen Kane… intrigued? What an honor and privilege to be part of this project. #MANK is coming to @NetflixFilm December 4…”
‘Mank’ will be digitally released by Netflix on December 4, 2020, and also to be out in select cinemas in November.
