American media-services provider Netflix made a statement regarding ‘Dear White People’ and announced that the series grabbed great attention in the last month.
The company posted a video from the series and captioned this as follows:
“It might officially be summer, but school is in session at Winchester University.
Nearly six times as many viewers watched Dear White People in the last 4 weeks compared to the 4 weeks before. And 43% of viewers were outside the US.”
This announcement was interpreted as the Black centered shows are arousing more and more interest day by day all around the world following the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
As might be remembered, Netflix also had created a tab for the movies & series that focuses on the Black experience in the USA.
The firm, which offers online streaming of numerous films and shows, added by promoting the ‘Dear White People:’
“Three seasons of this show that perfectly blends comedy, drama, heart and thoughtfulness are available right now.”
Although some of the followers criticized the series because of its title, most of them expressed their appreciation through comments:
“They should’ve been watching the entire time!!! This show is equally as amazing as it is important!” wrote, Britney Young.
“Love this show. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watched it. Bring on the new season” said, Shanicquah Timmons.
