Stream giant Netflix has released the first photos of the titular witcher, ‘Geralt of Rivia’ from ‘The Witcher’ season 2. In first the photos, Henry Cavill who portrays the protagonist of the fantasy series, appears in his new armor.
Netflix dropped the said photos on 5 October through social media, with the following note:
“New armor, same witcher. First look at Henry Cavill as Geralt in @WitcherNetflix Season 2.”
At the same moments, the official Instagram account for the series, released the same photos adding the message that reads:
“Good day to everyone in Blaviken who told Geralt that he needed new clothes.”
As for Cavill quoted from Andrzej Sapkowski, who is the writer of the series and fantasy novels & short stories of the same name, while posting the photos of himself in his new armor:
“‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.’” – From the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski”
As fans remember, ‘The Witcher’ season 2 production began back in January but was halted following the COVID-19 outbreak. In August, it was revealed that the production on season 2 would resume on a socially distanced set with the following poetry-like tweet:
“I’m dusting off my lute and quill,
I have some news, some mead to spill:
After all the months we’ve been apart
It’s time for production to restart.
The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless,
Will reunite on set 17 August.”
Season 2 will continue to center on ‘Geralt of Rivia,’ ‘Yennefer,’ and ‘Ciri‘; what’s more, there will be new characters, more creatures, and more battles.
It is predicted that ‘The Witcher’ season 2 will debut March or April 2021.
