The first official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming superhero movie, ‘We Can Be Heroes‘ arrived on December 5. The official Instagram page for Netflix Family released the trailer with the following note by referring that the film is a sequel to 2005 ‘The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D‘ and ‘Spy Kids‘ series:
“Sharkboy and Lavagirl are back, and so is the next generation of heroes. Get ready for all the action on Christmas Day. 🎥”
As can be seen in the trailer, the heroes (kids’ parents) are captured by aliens, and the kids, having superpowers, try to save them and the entire world.
Along with the super exciting trailer, it was also announced that the film, written, produced, and directed by Robert Rodriguez, would hit Netflix on December 25.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, who is portraying ‘Ms. Granada’ in the film, the chief of a superhero organization shared the trailer and wrote as a caption that power can come in all sizes, and continued:
“These amazing kids have a secret weapon – Teamwork. ⚡️ It brought different energy on set and is the life of this film. So while you wait for Santa, it’s time to sit back and let these incredible kids show you how to be a HERO! Are you in?”
Starring Pedro Pascal (as ‘Marcus Moreno’), YaYa Gosselin (as ‘Missy Moreno,’) Boyd Holbrook, Taylor Dooley (as ‘Lavagirl‘), Sung Kang, and Christian Slater (as ‘Tech-No’), alongside Chopra, the film was first announced in 2019. The same year, the production began in Texas. Even though the release date was declared as of January 2021, the production company rescheduled it for December 25.
