New ‘Agatha’ Trailer Confirms Sad Truth About Wanda Maximoff

The series will follow Agatha Harkness as she journeys through a world of magic and mystery.

A new trailer for the Disney+ series ‘Agatha All Along’ confirmed a sad truth for Marvel fans.

As per The Direct, Agatha is seen working as a detective on a murder case in the trailer. During her investigation, she looks at a list of dates and sees ‘W. Maximoff’ next to October 13. This confirms Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, is dead.

In ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ Wanda sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold by bringing down Mount Wundagore. This act led to her death, as she was crushed in the ruins. Her death was suggested in the movie, but the new trailer makes it clear.

Patti LuPone’s character also makes an appearance in the trailer and questions why anyone would join Agatha’s coven, to which Agatha humorously responds:

“I’m not looking for right-minded witches.”

The trailer also introduces a mysterious character played by Aubrey Plaza. She challenges Agatha to break free from a spell that was controlling her since the end of ‘WandaVision.’

The trailer is shown at Disney’s Upfront presentation, and it hasn’t been released online yet.

We May Still Feel Wanda’s Presence

There is still speculation about whether Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff in the series. The trailer hints that she may return in some form.

‘Agatha All Along’ was delayed due to last year’s writers’ and actors’ strikes and Disney’s changing streaming plans. Disney now limited itself to two Marvel shows per year, and this affected the release schedule.

The series went through several name changes as well, including ‘Agatha: House of Harkness,’ ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos,’ and ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.’ It then settled on ‘Agatha All Along.’

The cast of ‘Agatha All Along’ includes Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Maria Dizzia, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Emma Caulfield, and Debra Jo Rupp. The show will also feature original songs from ‘WandaVision’ songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

‘Agatha All Along’ will continue the story from ‘WandaVision’ and focus on Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn). The series will premiere on Disney+ on September 18, with the first two episodes available on that date. The show will have nine episodes in total.
