‘Agatha All Along’ got through Season 1 without a post-credits scene unlike its parent show, ‘WandaVision,’ which ended with a snippet of Wanda’s search for her kids through the Darkhold.
Jac Schaeffer explained why the spinoff didn’t have a similar element in a new chat with Variety, saying, “That’s a Marvel decision. I know nothing more than that.”
The showrunner revealed she actually “wrote a number of tags, because you always do on every Marvel everything. I love writing tags. I think some of my best writing is in the tags that were never made; I should have a little binder of my tags.”
“They’re so fun to write, because you’re writing the promise without having to deliver on anything. They’re the best. But there are so many things that factor into those, and I was told that we weren’t going to do a tag on this show. That doesn’t affect my work, or my vision for the show.”
Schaeffer confirmed that some other ideas were also cut from the series. Apparently, early drafts included Billy Maximoff’s (Joe Locke) shapeshifting Skrull boyfriend, Teddy Altman, as well as the anticipated demon Mephisto; but Marvel ultimately decided to scrap them.
Instead of Teddy, aka Hulkling, the show featured Eddie (Miles Gutierrez-Riley) as Billy’s lover to pay homage to someone dear to the writers. And Mephisto only got a mention instead of a full appearance.
‘Agatha All Along’ wrapped up its first season with a two-part finale last week, while most of the coven didn’t survive, secrets about the Witches’ Road and Agatha’s son, Nicky, came to surface.
