Academy Award-winning star Octavia Spencer, who made history this year with her performance in the Netflix series ‘Self-Made,’ announced through her verified Instagram account that shooting for ‘Truth Be Told‘ season 2 wrapped up as of the date of May 7.
The actor, portraying an investigative reporter named ‘Poppy Parnell‘ in the series based on the novel ‘Are You Sleeping‘ by Kathleen Barber, posted a photo of the clapboard bearing “Truth Be Told season 2” and added a message that reads:
“And just like that, it’s a wrap for me on season 2. @katehudson and I wrapped this morning at 4am. We were sobbing like babies because we love our cast and crew. When you film during covid, you fight to stay safe by keeping the crew bubble tight. We had each other’s backs, y’all.”
After shouting out her co-star Kate Hudson, who joined the cast for the second season, Spencer stated that the entire crew was quite cautious about the coronavirus pandemic. According to what she stated in the caption section, there were “less than five incidents of positive cases over a six-month period.” She continued:
“But, we couldn’t have done without our Studio Endeavor Content and Chernin Entertainment and our Network, Apple TV+. I’d personally like to thank our showrunner, our health and safety team led by Dave Michalski , and the best damn cast and crew on the planet.”
Spencer also thanked Reese Witherspoon, who is one of the executive producers, in her message and added that the second season will be “a special season for so many reasons.”
“If you haven’t watched us yet go ahead and binge on AppleTV+ because Season 2 is gonna …be …. LIT.”
In return, ‘Little Fires Everywhere‘ star Witherspoon jumped into the comments section and send her congratulatory message to Spencer and “the whole amazing crew.”
