Oscar-winning Viola Davis appeared as ‘Ma Rainey‘ in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom‘ and struck with admiration of tons of people. One of them, famous Oprah Winfrey had been so much impressed by her portray that she wanted to congratulate the actor with a present package including several pieces that she sent to her house.
According to a post shared by the ‘How to Get Away with Murder‘ actor on November 24, Oprah had sent a bunch of flowers, two bottles of champagne, and a kind note in order to say Davis made well with her performance that she represents the earliest Afro-American blues singer Gertrude “Ma” Rainey.
Oprah wrote the followings in the note:
“Your performance in Ma Rainey is so extraordinary and transformative. It took me a few minutes to realize it was even you. WOW!
That was a knockout, beyond words.”
The TV presenter also celebrated the actor multiple times and said that Davis deserves every accolade and award that’s surely coming. In another paragraph, Oprah clarified why she sent champagne; because she remembers years ago the actor saying she likes it.

The final movie of late actor Chadwick Boseman garnered high praises from critics for its costumes and production design as well as actors’ performances. Centering on a recording session of “Mother of the Blues” in 1927 Chicago, directed by George C. Wolfe and written by Ruben Santiago-Hudson.
The drama film, based on the play of the same name by August Wilson, will be released on Netflix on December 18.
