‘The Penguin’ premiered on HBO last week, and Cristin Milioti showed up in it as the late crime boss Carmine Falcone’s psychotic daughter, Sofia. Her character set on a fight against Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb to control Gotham City’s criminal world.
Milioti’s connection to Batman villains started way before the series, though. “I’ve been into Batman my entire life,” she recently revealed on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ “Like, I grew up pretending to be villains in my backyard. I rode my bike all around everyday after school, pretending to be the Joker, the Riddler, Catwoman – you name it.”
“And so, the fact that I’m getting to do this now is like so unimaginably profound. It blows my mind. My little self would be beside herself.”
Farrell returned to lead ‘The Penguin’ after his debut in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ (2022), with other cast members including Rhenzy Feliz, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, Carmen Ejogo, and Michael Zegen.
The first episode already received a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series will continue with seven more episodes until November 10.
After ‘The Penguin,’ Farrell will appear in ‘The Batman – Part II,’ arriving in October 2026. The sequel will explore the aftermath of the series’ events.
